“Taylor Made Fun” is an amusement arcade in Cleethorpes.
Taylor Made Fun
Spotted in Cleethorpes.
It was just about the only thing open on a cold and damp October Friday evening. It’s funny, you visit Cleethorpes as a child and remember it being big, exciting, and great for fish and chips. Then you go on your own [...]
Grace bought me a Porkert sausage maker for Christmas – it’s fantastic. It’s something that I always wanted but I didn’t know it… and while I can’t pretend to be an expert (I’ve only made three pounds of sausage so far), it is great fun – and already we’re making very nice sausages indeed.
It is [...]
For my birthday in December 2006 we went for a long weekend to Rome. Grace took a train down from Bologna and we got some cheap flights from Heathrow with Alitalia. Grace found a very nice small apartment which we stayed in, within walking distance of the city centre but not in a noisy area.

The year’s chilli growing (my original notes from June/July are here) went very well – the Thai Red Dragon produced a massive crop of probably close to 100 chillis, each one perfectly red and very hot. We use them when making curry, using probably 2-3 at a time.

As you’ll know if you’ve been following the site recently, I’m growing chillies. The original messafe is here and the most recent update is here. Today, three weeks on from the last update, I am pleased to report not just progress, but the first harvest!
The target was actually a harvest by [...]
As you’ll know if you’ve been following the site recently, I’m growing some chillies. The original posting is here and the first update is here. Today, a week on, I’m pleased to report excellent progress.
As you can see, the Thai Dragon continues to march on – yet more baby chillies are joining [...]
I’m not very green fingered (unless I’ve been painting) Annette looks after the garden and tends to the indoor plants. About five years ago I bought three small cacti (from Ikea, of all places) and attempted to nurse them in my office. We managed together just fine until last year when all three of them [...]
We’ve had a digital camera since Summer 2001, and because it costs nothing to take pictures with it, we take quite a lot! We’ve 9,000 photos gobbling up 6 gigabytes of disc space on the PC at home, and about 1,000 pictures have made it so far onto the photo album on the [...]
“How tall are you?”It’s a question I’m very used to hearing – and it does get a bit tedious I’m afraid.Imagine you’re asked the same question every time you go out, every time you meet someone new.Sure, people don’t always ask outright, they’ll sometimes just say “My, you’re a big lad”, “Your mum must’ve put [...]
